You were a chapter—the most inspiring and incredible thing to have happened but I can no longer continue my efforts on carving these hopes with a dying pen. My sentimental attachments to the established truths aren’t quite dissolved, but I admit it’s time to welcome a brand new page to a whole new chapter to begin. My heart does not ache, not in the way I thought it would, though I am painfully aware of just how much it potentially could. If one day our hearts realign then it’ll only be a continuation from all that this was; a lesson of patience and acceptance, a lesson of trust, an experience that left its permanent mark to signify its impact. I hold no regrets—not of the confession, not of the trip, not of the perfect-unintentional-dates, not of the times we pushed and pulled from one another during the wars against our conscious, not of anything that happened because I am protected within the barriers of faith. In what exactly, I’m not sure but I can feel it in the grace of our footsteps and the earths vibrations are silent warnings to your oblivion but now is not the time to initiate or rush what has been written in the stars for another day. Life teased me with a gentle kiss on the neck and left before I could grow to miss it, but the feeling is etched into my skin in temporary permanence. Not quite a “goodbye”, not a “see you later” either. This, baby girl, this is just a “to be continued…”
